About 3400 BC, the northern Netherlands saw a cultural revolution, the dawn of the Neolithic era. The tribes of hunters living here adopted new techniques and customs, becoming sedentary farmers and starting constructing solid timber houses. Not much is know about the appearance of the so called Funnel Beaker people; we know that they were of stocky build and of a fair complexion, not unlike the modern population.
